Analog Codes for Gross Error Correction in Signal Transmission

چکیده
We proposed a novel decoding algorithm for Analog Codes (Reed-Solomon Codes over complex numbers), the syndrome repairing (SR) algorithm, for gross error correction in signal transmission. Simulations show that, if the number of gross errors is not too large and the amplitude of background noise is small enough (compared to the amplitude of gross errors), the SR algorithm recovers the original signal with nearly the same accuracy as if no gross errors occur upon transmission. In particular, if the transmission is background-noise-free, then the recovery is exact. Introduction Analog Codes, or DFT Codes [1] is a class of Reed-Solomon Codes over the complex field which allows for the detection and correction of multiple errors. The applications of Analog Codes for multiple errors correction in the transmission of continuous-amplitude signals has been discussed by many authors [2,3]; and can be summarized as follows. Assume we wish to send a signal to a remote receiver via a channel composed of background noise (or simply, noise) plus gross errors (or simply, errors) reliably. --Here we distinguish noise and errors by their amplitudes. More concretely, by noise we mean a random vector with each of its entries having Gaussian distribution m u

Optimal fast digital error correction method of pipelined analog to digital converter with DLMS algorithm
In this paper, convergence rate of digital error correction algorithm in correction of capacitor mismatch error and finite and nonlinear gain of Op-Amp has increased significantly by the use of DLMS, an evolutionary search algorithm. To this end, a 16-bit pipelined analog to digital converter was modeled. The obtained digital model is a FIR filter with 16 adjustable weights. To adjust weights o...
متن کاملBroadcast Technology
In the past, digital transmission of video and audio has required a broader frequency bandwidth than analog transmission to transmit the same information. Recent progress in source coding technology for video and audio, however, has made it possible to reduce the bit rate while keeping the quality deterioration to a minimum. The frequency bandwidth required for digital transmission has conseque...
متن کاملChannels, Codes and Capacity
In this chapter we introduce our task: communicating a digital message without error (or with as few errors as possible) despite an imperfect communications medium. Figure 1.1 shows a typical communications system. In this text we will assume that our source is producing binary data, but it could equally be an analog source followed by analog-to-digital conversion. Through the early 1940s, engi...

We present an approach to design of fault tolerant computing systems. In this paper, a technique is employed that enable the combination of several codes, in order to obtain flexibility in the design of error correcting codes. Code combining techniques are very effective, which one of these codes are turbo codes. The Algorithm-based fault tolerance techniques that to detect errors rely on the c...
